Her ashes were stored in a ready-made boulder box (now buried in the tomb of the Phoenix Mountain cemetery in Guiyang, next to the tomb of her Grandma). Two days before the Lunar New Year in 2002, due to comfort us, Shuangshuang’s classmates during her university invited we two brothers’ families to Zhenyuan rural to celebrate the festival, where was two to three kilometers away from Guiyang. Every day when we pray, we should kiss Qi Shuang’s blood bits, hairs and nails. Then I would keep it securely. However, when we were back to Guiyang the evening on the lunar calendar January 2nd, we prayed before sleeping, we found the remains were missing. We burst into tears, we guessed we lost on the train or in canyon in the primitive forest. We rush phoned Shuangshuang’s classmates’ parents hopelessly, asked whether it was missing in the shuttle bus or not. We prayed Shuangshuang for help only, and also intercede Antonio to pray for us. Please forgive the carelessness of the parents! Lost remains. At the same time, we prepared rushed to the train station to request the train captain and crews whether they pick up the seven-centimeter plastic transparent box or not when they cleared the sleeping berths. Because the remains was in a box of six or seven cm and it was bright and easy to find. So, they will be moved to adjust their routine business rules, subtle changes in their outlook on life. The radiance of God illuminates the soul of every good heart. Some of them have become our friends; The husband of Mrs Wang has become my friend, too. It seems they do not think we are foolish people, rather they admire the Catholic. We wish them to accept the love of God!
*** The touch and understanding of colleagues. The supervisor of Shuangshuang, Hu Lifang likes her very much. They become friends less that a month. When she got to know the situation, she was shocked by the truth and immediately came to comfort and help us; even accompanied with me to and fro the funeral home and held the ashes box by herself as Shuangshuang’s full sister. She would like to discuss her romance, marriage and work with us. When we returned to Zhuhai, she would bring her husband and twin daughters to meet our family. She treats us as relatives in Zhuhai. Please the radiance of God’s love illuminates them.
*** The touch and understanding of classmates. Shuangshuang’s classmates heard of her suffering, they immediately came from Guiyang. When they heard our ‘forgiveness’, their attitude was changing from the incomprehensible to admire the Catholicism benevolent. They had the admiration and respect towards the virginity, and they expressed their willingness to further understand the Catholic ethics and outlook on life, because their education has never been involved in the formation of the concept of life ethics of love. I see the glory of God!
*** There are too many examples to describe; I would like to send it to you before you will leave for our Catholic ‘World Youth Congress’ which will open more than ten days later. I hope the participating young people could know the martyrdom of the Chinese girl. You would translate and print into a book, which is enough for you to busy. Chapter 5: The history of Shuangshuang (From the birth, childhood, education and a filial and loving girl)

*** Answer: Of course! She was born on October 20, 1979 in the abandoned weighting room of the “Ant Tomb” nearby the Wengan Phosphate in Guizhou Province. That was the special care for me when I was uncap. Then she entered The Second Experimental Middle school in Guiyang. After that she entered The Second High school in Guiyang. Later she was admitted to Computer Information management major in Guizhou Higher Business College. She graduated in 2000. In the end of 2000, our family moved to Zhuhai. All aunts and relatives celebrated the Festival in Zhuhai. Shuangshuang was very busy in the Festival. On May Day, she warmly received several Guiyang classmates who were travelling in Zhuhai. On Mother’s Day, she particularly push wheelchair for grandmother and with everyone went to Yuanming Park for fun. Her grandma was very happy. And then she was recruited to “Tianyue Advertisement Company” and made efforts to learn advertising business planning. Only twenty days she won the satisfaction from her colleagues. Her head praised her understanding, kind-hearted, in particular affinity. She was a rare good girl. I remembered when we were in Guiyang for several years during Virgin Mary Christmas Feast Day, she was always happily with her sister Enen, dressing as angel with a pair big wing, throwing petals to the Virgin status in the procession. How a naïve, pure, lively and lovely child. Her life is too simple, just grow up and then went to the end. I remembered before her graduation from elementary school, a classmate called Xie Yu always went to our house and she coached Mathematics for Xie. The grandmother told her not to delay her own exams; she quietly told her grandmother, said ‘Xie Yu is too poor whose parents are dumb, no one can help Xie.” ‘Grandma was very fond of this kind-hearted granddaughter who was willing to help others. Chapter 6: The extend information of the event (the repentance of person concerned)
*** visit: I initially learned the martyrdom and sacrifice experience of Shuangshuang and the wonderful events happened around the events, but also I understand your attitude towards the incident. I was very touched; Thank you for your answer. I would like to bother you to talk about some situation about you after the incident and your family converted to Catholic before the liberation. Is that ok?
*** Answer: Well, first of all I would talk about my situation.
*** The case was basic checked and decided. Brought Shuangshuang ashes back home. I slowly and carefully restored her room as it was. The bloodstain like her head under the bed was protected by me and sealed in thick glass. Her ashes were stored in the altar which was placed the Cross and Lourdes Virgin Statue in the living room. In front of the altar, the iron railings ware imbed five pieces of glasses, respectively with sand spray picture and words. in the middle was a cross in the heart-shaped, around with a circle of Latin petals (FAMILIA CARI TATIS) “House of Love”, left and right side were sand-blasted with Latin hollow letters, which were my belief tenet: ‘CARI TASDOMI NO” and “VERI TASPOPULO”, then the rest two were used in Chinese seal character “The love because of The God” and “The divine truth leads human spirits.” These two sentences were summary of my whole life pursuit and inclination. That was my prayer and my wish to Lord every day. I hope Shuangshuang could transfer my wish to Lord. I had a lot of ideal plans for her. She was gone, I’m old! I can not do anything more! I went to Guiyang, Hong Kong and Macao to meet with rectors and the Pontifical Representative; and reported the whole incident. All were entrusted to God! How many worries, how many wishes, how many expectations, how many ideals, hundreds of thousands of Chinese youth are waiting. I hope all the worries and worries are my worrisome. I silently kept in my heart. Everything is God’s wise arrangement.
*** In October 2002, I with Shuangshuang’s mother went to Rome with the pilgrims of two or three hundred people from Hong Kong. We participated in the canonization ceremony of Father Josemaría Escrivá, OPUSDEI. We also decided to worship Virgin in Lourdes and Fatima. We visited a lot of Sacred sites of the Holy Relic during the celebration. In the following day, the pilgrims received an Italian text fax from Hong Kong and said that it was my business. Due to nobody understood Italian, we could only wait till one OPUS DEI Monsignor told me after reading it, he said “Mr Qi, congratulations. You get the special permission for Pope John Paul II, you will receive the audience tomorrow.” Even the priest also envied the honor. We were very happy. We had plan to go to France for two days and before the 12th we arrived in Lisbon. Now the schedule conflicted. We had to spare the air-ticket to and for Lourdes happily. In consider that Pope did not understand Chinese, I was thinking what I shall say and what I want to say. I had already forgotten English which I learned 50 years ago, I was too excited to sleep at night, and I am so grateful to God for the special kindness. The next day, we participated in the mass by the chief pastor of OPUS DEI in the square, then we expected to the audience of Pope. We waited orderly with the tickets in the right of open-air altar in front of the doors of St. Peter’s Basilica. Fortunately, a Hong Kong faithful helped us to apply for seven or eight relative-accompanied tickets. Tickets holders could sit with me in the anteroom close to the Pope. One Hongkong church member who understood English translated my words at once and taught me: “I love you, dear Pope very, very much. I bring my motherland and my family to you.” Soon the pope came, and he greeted more than a hundred clergy and people from all over the world. We were sitting by turns. One polish female friend let me go beyond her and the security politely discouraged. When I was waiting in the line, I heard the shouting from my friends and other homeland church members who escorted my family in English “Papa! Papa! We love you.” I made the sign of cross with my eyes glistening with tears. When I knelt in front of the Pope, kissing his hand holding my right hand, his left hand patted my shoulder gently. I submitted the transparent plastic file bag (within also including the small flag from mainland church member), I repeatedly recite my inner words many times in English. It was too many pilgrims in Our Lady Anniversary ceremony. Fortunately, an unknown young Chinese female church member was eager to help me solve the problems of the station and the traffic. It was going to bright on the thirteenth day, some enthusiastic people who carried food and drink to us and brought us to a shuttle bus head to the holy land which was 140 kilometers away. The beautiful modern asphalt road was filled with autos. Our bus could only crawl slowly. We spent more than four hours to reach the destination. How to get in due to the sea of people. I heard the songs far away and the mass had already begun. I found a two-meter wide with white brick walkway among the hundreds of thousands of people sea, many people were kneeling and crawling on the road. I thought I could crawl and let my wife leaning me. I crawled only twenty or thirty meters, which caused my knee pain. I cried saying, ‘Mother, no jokes, I had used both my hands and feet!” The trick did not work and the speed was so slow. I had to ask an enthusiastic people to find a nun dressed like workers for help. The person said our elderly were from China. Then they smiled and supported us with their hands into the inner circle. But the mass was over. I was kneeling and crawling on the outer circle, listening to the Mass! It was pity that we came from China so far away, rush to here from the early morning. But in the end we were late for the mass. It is said that “Don’t say you started early, somebody else stared earlier than you.” Are our nation really old and pretentious nation? Our Lady! Please pity on our five thousand years of civilization and millions of Chinese souls, especially young people! During the parade, we were pushed to the Virgin statue, next to the sea of white handkerchief waving, singing the Ode to our lady from hundreds of thousands person. The song soothed my heart. I waved the white wipes towel in the hand. Within my heart, I want to tell our Lady thousands of words. A priest in white in the parade gave me a songbook, I found petals falling on it. We followed the Virgin statue, we pushed to the end of the procession. The Virgin Status was surrounded in the flowers. Next to the statue, I whispered a few words and quietly took off two small plastic flowers as commemorate. I thought that people coming here presented flowers. Now I picked up flowers from so long distance. Your Holy Mother, please understand my care and thought. We too need you in our hometown and we hope there will have rose petals raining! Pilgrimage completed, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims began to return. We had separated with the enthusiastic people for a long time. We looked around and cannot find them, no acquaintance, verbal barrier, did not know where the car. We had a really big trouble. How to deal with the problem in the sea of people? I only could pray to Our Lady and to Shuangshuang. Suddenly, I saw the enthusiastic people waving to us from a long distance. Really amazing! So many people, so far, so noisy, we saw her alone, or just that she cannot contact us only saw us. We were moved to thank to the care of Our Lady and the care from Shuangshuang. And the enthusiastic young women also feel amazing and surprised. In the afternoon, we ride back to the Lisbon resident. Packed up our luggage; the next day we flight to Hongkong on scheduled. We immediately returned home in Zhuhai. There were lots of fun and even embarrassing and interesting things during the pilgrim tours. I did not nag here.
*** Visit: Too envious of you, I hope I can have such a good opportunity to participate in such an exciting pilgrimage ceremony and could share it with you like St. Mary’s ‘maternal love’. Please tell me the miracle of your family converting to God. Let us share your family’s special grace!
*** Answer: The special grace of God is the convert of our, families. (The recovery of my mother) My mother’s life was so miserable and compassionate. She was kind, loving and admirable. Even she suffered a lifetime of hardships, drifted from place to place, endured contempt and insults, in the end she refused to yield. The stories of her moving deeds were too numerous to record. I only mentioned one story about the recovery of her illness and convert to the Lord. It was in the fall of 1948, when I was studying in high school in Guiyang, my mother had a serious conflict with my father due to the housework. She received greatly stimulation and she seemed to go into a flat spin. She fall down in the pond far away from our house in the whole night. When we found her, she was dying, weak and crazy. Mother was saved by Uncle Yang Bendu who opened a pharmacy (the husband of the sister of her half-brother’s wife). He took her to his home opposite to the Catholic Church. Mother was completely crazy. Two priests and elder sisters received her and felt sympathy for her. But it did not nothing with her illness. One day, Aunt Yu, a devout, supported my mother with her hand to her sitting room of female school, taking one glass bottle in hand and said to my mother “Baozhen (my mother’s nickname), this is the holy relics of Blessed Zhang Dapeng, you keeo the faith, drink it and you will be ok.” Mother took the bottle and said silly “Drink it and I will Ok” Then she drink it。
Aunt Yu left the living room and was busy for a while, when she back, she found my mother was kneeling in the kneel stool, faced to the Cross and cried. Aunt Yu hurriedly asked :”Baozhen, what are you doing?” The answer was “I find God! I find God!” Aunt was moved to support mother with her hand to the church nearby. My mother knelt under the altar, right side of which was Virgin Statue. My mother was crying, “My Lord Jesus! Holy Mother. I come back. I come back” Since then she was recovered and conscious. She restored her memory and converted to God. Soon under the influence of my mother’s deed and leading, the whole family except elder sister who was studying in Guiyang, nephew and I, my sister-in-law, younger brother and younger sisters, niece all were baptized and convert to Lord. My mother visited me in Guiyang, persuaded me to accept the faith of God. Because of my pride, I thought I was the top student who understood the difference between science and superstition. I did not believe any sacred events. Drinking the groundwater infiltrated from the empty coffin within which the body was removed for a long time, it was certainly mixed with the decay taste from the decomposition of the corpse. It was really ignorant and dangerous. It was extremely unscientific. Did this kind of dirty goods have any special effect? I really can not understand. It was incredible that my mother recovered from her madness. It was a miracle! It was until winter holiday, under the help of the elderly Father Juan, I studied the truth of Lord with Dad, elder sister and nephew. We learnt and discussed, through repeated debate, God finally accept our return to Him. We baptized and become the children of God. In the late Qing dynasty, Blessed Zhang Dapeng died in Guiyang and was made martyrdom. He was the great benefactor of our family. When I mentioned his name again, I recalled one heartache experience two years ago. When I took part in the new church members’ baptism in Pentecost in Xuanwumen Catholic Church, I would like to give my Godson the name Zhang Dapeng, while the priest in white disapproved and disregarded Zhang Dapeng as saint. I was saddened by that. At the thought of it, I did not have the courage to participate in their activities any more. They were pity. I doubted whether they had faith. A lot of worry, a lot of frustration. The past and the future, all of the future will be dedicated to the God. All the wishes will be entrusted to the Almighty God!

*** Answer: Shuangshuang has gone. And my mother has gone. A lot of rectors knew the incident have gone. Through these decades, some of the things that have happened around us made me move, some made me happy, some made embarrassed and regretted, some caused me sad and painful. Those so much self-righteous arrogance was described euphemistically as “Pastoral need make the best use of the situation”. Pretend to be ignorant of persuasion. Turn a deaf ear to reminder. In Renwu Year (Year 2002) my mother was ill. The situation urged me and made me have the postscript. And the postscript was written in Chinese Five-syllable regulated verse. I recorded it here.
(Poem 3) Worrying about the unexpected.
In the Summer and Autumn period of Xinsi Year (ie Year 2001), my age was near seventy. My beloved parent passed away, so did my filial daughter. My heart was grieved, and I shed sad tears. The double strikes came and where the fortune was. Our couple depend on each other and tell us how to survival? I moaned and groaned, I prayed in silence. The grace of our Lord is boundless and limitless. It is always a time for one soul leaving the world and coming back to our Lord. Alas! In the summer harvest time of Xinmao Year (Year 2011), unhealthy trends breezed heads. In the morning, I found my white hairs. When I was old, I got to know the return way to God. By the cattle-shed I missed our Lord, I whipped a horse on. My heart hastened me carry on, steps became faster and winds howling beside me. Thousands of lands were delayed for cultivation, millions of grasses withered. The flock of sheep were hungry and thirsty. The shepherd gave up the defeat. Why to deceive or screw over those who are self disciplinary and ignore the penalty. We need repair the difficult road to full communion; and rebuild Shandong Beijing Capital. In last year summer, the usurper appeared in Sichuan, changed regulations without authority and did profanity. They wanted to split. The change of holy laws saddens me. I worried about it.
